Clarity on Parity — Integrated Campaign Design for the Illinois Department of Insurance

Collaborated on the development and visual execution of Clarity on Parity, a multi-platform public awareness campaign created for the Illinois Department of Insurance to educate residents on mental health parity laws and healthcare rights. The campaign centered around “Yarney,” a nonbinary and racially ambiguous yarn-based character designed to make complex policy information feel approachable, inclusive, and emotionally engaging. Working alongside a multidisciplinary creative team, I contributed to the campaign’s visual design system, presentation design, layout execution, and supporting creative assets across digital, social, video, OOH, and experiential applications. The campaign blended clean information hierarchy with vibrant editorial-inspired layouts, combining bold typography, approachable color systems, 3D character integration, and playful visual elements inspired by yarn and movement. The project extended beyond traditional campaign design by building an immersive visual ecosystem known as the “Yarney-verse,” helping guide audiences through educational content in a digestible and engaging format. The integrated campaign strategy included online video content, digital banners, social media assets, OOH billboards, print materials, and activation concepts designed to increase awareness and accessibility surrounding mental health parity resources throughout Illinois. The final campaign successfully balanced public service communication with emotionally resonant storytelling, creating a modern and visually cohesive educational experience across multiple touchpoints.
